The Zanzibar Revenue Authority (ZRA) was established under the Act No. 11 of the year 2022 as an institution for the collection of Government revenue from various local initiatives, Before the establishment of the Authority there was the Zanzibar Revenue Board (ZRB) which was established under the law No. 7 in 1996 and began to work officially from September 1998 to December 2022.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

ZRA is committed and dedicated to become a centre of tax administration excellence that meets the expectations of all stakeholders on a continuous and sustainable basis. ZRA is committed to become a centre of tax administration excellence by the year 2010.<\/p>

Mission Statement<\/strong><\/p>

“To promoting voluntary compliance and build public confidence through effective, efficient, transparent, and fair administration of relevant tax laws, and providing quality customer services by using modern and innovative technology, with the highest degree of integrity to optimize revenue collection.”<\/p>

ZRA’s mission statement describes the main purpose and business\u00a0 of\u00a0 ZRA.\u00a0 The Mission Statement spells why ZRA is in existence. In other words it encapsulates the purpose of the organization. ZRA recognizes that its operations must be supportive of the country’s economic development agenda, by collecting all eligible revenue while facilitating investment and economic activities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
